We used to have permission to host them, you see. But we no longer have it, which means you can't download the games. Sorry.

Lots of less law abiding sites have both games available for download. Great game, my only complaint is that at the start you have to fight the clerics with no greater justification than they live in a dodgy sounding temple and look like a pair of used car salesmen / politicians. Spent ages trekking around those woods before I twigged. No pun intended. Well worth tracking down though.

EOB 2 is a great game! It was the first game I ever bought, back in 1992, It took me almost 5 years to complete.

I have since completed the game many times, with the same party!

I found a way of moving characters back and forth in the time line of the game, you can even duplicate some items, weapons and the like. Its very simple to do, you only need to use the "Write" program that comes with windows 3.1. I've got windows 98SE now but Wordpad does not work.

heres how you do it:

Save you game, then open that savegame in Write, most of the characters/letters will be boxes or some kind of ASCII code, however you will be able to find your game characters names, eg STUMPY, or MERLIN.

Find the name eg STUMPY, and highlight from the S of the name to say the M of Merlin, this data, is that particular character, his/her weapons skills exp etc, you can then cut and paste this character into the place of another character from a previous or even future game save slot.

I had a whole party, at the begining of the game, with all the powerfull weapons you aquire towards the end! I had more or less two of everything, 2 Talon swords 2 Slicer swords, duplicate sets of special armour. You can't bring back everything though, it doesn't work with the stone items, and you will have trouble bring back arrows, if you put them in the quiver, you'll have to use the backpack, it takes time to transfere enough, you will have to make a few trips back and forth.

Just use you brain, and work things out logically.

Also, don't put duplicated items down on floor together, you will loose one of them.

The time travel cheat works wonders, when you meet Alain, you can have the same person touch him, and increase their level, loads of times. My Dwavern Fighter Stumpy, was at the 13th level!!!

I haven't figured out how to use this method with EOB1 yet, but I am trying.

I used to play this game on my 20mhz 386, 2megs of ram and a 42meg hardrive. I also had number 3 but this one was best. you can find the short sword "sting" near the begining. I beat it once and the end guy dran draggore is very hard. Actually though the beholders would kill a party just as quick and there was a whole level of them. I also beat clouds of xeen which is still a really great game

gas spores is easy. but beholders with them spamming disintegrate spells all the time like nobody's business...thats a real pita. saving the game after each beholder fight is crucial.

Okay, it took some time for me to remember...corridors....yes ,it was hard to get through even though I editted my characters with 255 hit points

It was good they build the option in it for multiple save games ,in EOB 1 there was only one slot.
