Make sure you've run the .reg file and then use the patched icon to start the game. You'll probably need to reboot before the .reg file take effect in your system.

I will add my voice to the few who are having problems with the save game option. Every time I try to save the game tells me it "cannot read drive". Whaa? I'm loving this game and I would appreciate if someone could help solve this problem!

Make sure all the files without exception are not flagged as read only. That's usually the problem and unfortunatly this problem originate from some archivers.

Hmmm...I tried to make the files without exception not read only files but I am still having no luck with saving the game. It still says Unable to Read Drive. (I find the files and folders return to Read Only once I have exited the properties window, even though I apply the changes to them. When I open the properties window again it says Read Only again for the folder.) Any suggestions?

I thoroughly recommend the open source version of this game (get it from source forge) i just spent 6 hours playing this game with mates over the net. It gets boring single-player as regardless of AI difficulty it is far to easy. But with mates it can be great competing against each other, backstabbing ect. Do it (just not in exam week as I have done).

Hey, I'm sorry if someone has already brought this up, but is it possible to use both OpenTTD and TTD patch at the same time on this game? Both patches have great features and I would really prefer to use both. If it is not possible to run both, which one should I stick with. OpenTTD or TTDpatch?

Download OTTD patch. That fixed it for me. I think there is also a sound config.exe.

I have played transport tycoon on many differnt system configurations and can confirm that it works well under DOS (assuming drivers are correctly installed) or Windows 95/98. The Deluxe version comes in two editions - Winows and DOS. The Windows one doesn't run on DOS, obviously, the DOS one will run on Windows 95/98 (and probably ME).

Windows XP requires the Windows Transport Tycoon Deluxe + TTDPatch OR OpenTTD. Windows 2000 is probably the same as XP. Hope this helps someone.
