Shogun Total War is some kind of modern game about feudal japan but is only strategy(battling strategy and planing strategy) and it is for sale.

FYI: If you have already downloaded I doubt you look at the main page any more, but you should know there is now a pdf of the original manual and a FAQ there which should help you a lot if you have questions. Also the manual is of normal 1990's Microprose quality, ie BRILLIANT!!

Enter is the strike key while you are fighting - You do a combination of the arrow key and the enter key to strike. When you are on the battlefield select your army by pressing the appropriate number - then press the arrow key to direct them to the desired location and then press the + key.

There's also Backspace while dueling to parry, and * or - instead of + in battles: one of them turned the platoon whithout moving it and the other moved it without turning --slower.

I totally agree that this one is top QUALITY remake material.

well, why not start a fan remake? The game is not too complex to remake if you find the right people...

whoops, forgot that one could post without logging in. As I said, a fan-remake would be possible as well. If anyone has the courage to start it, I would gladly assist.

I've beening encountering a problem and I was wondering if anyone else had.
I'm running the game in DosBox on an XP; When my Daimyo dies and I am highest ranking it won't allow me to do anything. It shows the screen saying he died in battle and asking who can replace him, and whenf I hit enter nothing happens. THe music plays for a while then stops. My daimyo died once when I was to low to try for his position and it worked fine.

I encountered the same problem. Screen freezes after a while when somebody got killed or after I killed my orf

The game should work fine after you wait for a minute or so, and then the problem shouldn't appear again during the same gaming session. Sometimes Alt-Tabbing solves the proble as well I think.

i also got that problem and as Japofran said alt-tab is the solution.
