:bleh: Damn nice game - takes a while to get used to old fashioned driving style again but its fun and runs smoothly even in XP - thus crashes sometimes but seldom enough to enjoy the gameplay. One con is the cars act like small rc stuff with too hard rear tyres and the on-road and off-road vehicles have too much common characteristics - but nevertheless - its fun k:

To avoid game crash after the final, platinum championship is won and the credits are about to load - don't unlock anything anymore after the second championship is won, not in the single race, neither training (stars fetching) nor in the stunt arena. After the second championship you'll have to compete with the available humble cars against more advanced and better opponents which will be hard, but then you'll be able to finish the platinum championship too and then you can unlock as much as you want (and crash at the repeated final championship with the best cars .
If you're at the platinum championship already and keep crashing... well, de-install the game and re-install it again. Unless you prefer to use the cheats to unlock everything, of course.

Same about the time races where you can unlock inversed and reversed versions of available tracks, only afte the final championship has been finished. The best car for it (in my opinion) is anyway Cougar, it's reaction to the turning at curves is acceptable enough at higher difficulties (which you will absolutely need to beat the insane time limits) and it's even faster than the big black panda and you will need all the speed you can get.

I got the patch, but it doesn't seem to cure the screen rotation problem.
Anyone got any idea what I can do???

It didn't fix it for me too, but it got slightly better. Anyway I have to change resolution in the options every time I start the game, from 768x1280  to 1280x768.

I have never gotten this screen rotation problem you speak about... maybe its your video card or something. The only glitches I've found are the "no 1-2-3-GO!" bug and "crash after X number of races".

Oh, it posted! For the past few days, all I kept getting was a blank index page... anyway:

I just found an article on GameSpot from June about Throwback purchasing Acclaim's titles. One of them is Re-Volt. In another article they had an interview with their CEO. They said that they are excited about re-selling/ expanding the games, especially Re-Volt! So, if you wanna play this game, you might want to download it soon before it's sold!

It seems I can't post the links for whatever reason (blank index page) but you can see the interview on Re-Volt's articles on GameSpot.

Yes, I'm quite sure it depends on the graphic card. Sometimes when everything is working fine the "3, 2, 1, GO!" appear inverted right to left alone over the normal image. Then it's even funny.

Great game! Sometimes annoyingly unfair, but you can be unfair too :-).
I played the original CD version (borrowed from a friend) some years ago, WITHOUT A SINGLE BUG (GeForce 2 and Windows 98 SE, anyway). But this downloaded version (abandonware? wow!!) is really buggy: no 3-2-1-GO (seen only once), stucking camera on start, sometimes crashing (other computer, ATI Radeon 9600, Windoze XP). So the best thing I can recommend is to buy that CD somewhere... it would be better (and you'd have all that great music too).
Thx for this pearl.

I experienced the no 321go-bug as well until I tried running the game in win 98 compatibility mode. that fixed the problem. no more crashes as well (with the 1.1 version)
