What we need now is a single "Company's that Left ESA" thread note all company's (with discussion)
and wonder why ESA is slowly bleeding dry... :wondering:

Is ESA not doing it's job properly or what.?

Quoting me at Request forum:
Abandonia had serious problems with Lucas Arts, they directly told us to not offer their games for download...not sure if we can allow the download now.
They are no more ESA protected but this doesn't mean that their games aren't protected anymore.

I mean, some companies aren't ESA members but their games are still protected after years.
Are we sure? We should pay attention this time

What about Indy's Desktop Adventures?

Had a quick look, and couldn't find it for sale. So is it abadoned?
And Maniac Mansion?

Well, let's take it slowly. All those game packs have to be checked, because if a game is sold as a part of the pack it still is for sale (and those classic archives usually included Maniac Mansion) just like later packs included Yoda Stories and Indy's Desktop Adventures.

That's right, Abandonia acctually put some LucasArts games back for download around last new year! Remember Tom Henrik being very excited and posting about several titles that got permision after he made his deal with ESA.

Not sure what that deal was, but after that the 15 year rule was put in use and even LucasArt games older then 15 years were proclaimed abandoned. The games from LucasArts (like Loom or Zak McCracken) were hosted for a very short time, before they became protected yet again, so either that deal didn't work out, or something else happened.

Do we have anybody to talk to LucasArts??? Sierra/Vivendi??? Other major companies that aren't (or even still are) ESA members (after all even if ESA is protecting copyright, if the owner of the copyright says it's OK, it's OK).
