No. Mikael is no God (although i do like his way of singing and growling)..Im not very familiar with deathmetal (as i agree with you, it does sound like crap) but i do not think he is unique. There are many metal bands who implements clean vocals and growls/shreiks you can understand

Yes. Calling him a God was exaggerating it. But fact remains: I haven't heard that good growls ever (err... in any other band). And I love his clean vocals.

Now, shrieks/screaming type of deathmetal vocals are one thing. I usually can comprehend them, unlike most growls.

Could you direct me to other bands that growls, and in which you can actually understand the vocals, then? That is, if you remember the name of any. I can't get enough of it!

Most - if not all - is blackmetal, some has clean vocals, growls and shreiks, some have only shreiks and clean vocals..

Some of these bands are pure crap, and some are great..
Im not sure if i remembered right..so i probably screwed up the list by adding bands that dosen't feature what you're looking for
