for pure DOS users it will work the same way IMO.

- unzip the BIOFORGE.ZIP in a "path your choice" (e.g. into D:\GAMES\DOSBOX\ for windows user).
- you will get a folder named BIOFORGE\
- rename this folder (e.g. BIOTEMP)
- start dosbox with "path your choice" as drive c: (e.g. D:\GAMES\DOSBOX\) and do this:
Code:
CD BIOTEMP\
SUBST S: X
S:
CD BIO
INSTALL.EXE
- now choose ENGLISH as only language (all other versions are ripped) or installation will fail
- change install type to LARGE
- now we have install path = "C:\BIOFORGE" and install type = "LARGE"
- "install bioforge" and choose your soundcard settings (e.g. SB16 220/7/1 for DOSBOX defaults)
- "save settings and exit"
- quit dosbox
- move the folder X\ from BIOTEMP\ to BIOFORGE\ and also BIOWARE.BAT
- delete BIOTEMP
- start dosbox again
- start bioforge with the copied batch file:
Code:
CD BIOFORGE
BIOFORGE.BAT
have fun
Thank you so much.

Don't forget you need to fake the CD again when you run.

so the last bit needs another line...
- start dosbox again
- start bioforge with the copied batch file:
Code:
CD BIOFORGE
SUBST s: x
BIOFORGE
BIOFORGE.BAT[/code]

Default How to fire?

Can anybody tell me how I can fire the weapon without having a numpad available? I’ve tried every possible key combination but the weapon won’t fire. Or is there a different way to take down these huge guard robots?

Depends how you run the game ....
If you're using dosbox: remap the keys in the keymap utilty to keys you can use.

Works fine for me in DosBox .74

I had this game when it was new. I really, really wanted to like it, but the controls, as well as the camera situation, just ended up frustrating the hell out of me.

I kept playing it though, and even finished it, but it was one of those things where once I beat it, I never, ever wanted to play it again.

After retrying it now with Dosbox, I quickly remembered how much I wanted to forget about it.

As a "fun look back" at the dawn of 3d gaming I'd tell someone to check it out, but as a serious good game to play, I'd pass.

Default small question

Hi everyone! I wanted to first start out by thanking everyone here that helped me get this memorable classic of a game to work and play!

One quick question though.. I've been playing the game and noticed through a walkthrough that while my sound works fine, that I have been missing out on the suspenseful music. Can someone help me find out how to get the music to work? Can I do so without reinstalling it, as I have already been playing? Your help would be appreciated.

Run "install" from your bioforge dir and select SB(pro) for music card.

< *Wonders why sound & music are set to 'none' in AB archive ....?
