However, as he ask it's safe to assume he will have to try a lot of things out, then floppy boot to try things out is advised, it's easier to fine tune config and autoexec on a boot floppy, even create fine tuned sophisticated multi boot options with multi-config commands for nitpicking games ... etcetera .. < insert the usual blah blah here > ....

Once he's happy with the boot floppy he easily can create a boot CD from the floppy.
