That does seem like a sound/IRQ problem, as The Fifth Horseman said, related to music swapping when you leave a merchant screen. Try running setup for the game, and select no music for that option. If there's no freeze when you leave the blacksmith this time, you'll know it's just a matter of finding the right IRQ setting and card choice. I recommend one of the Soundblaster selections.

Excellent game. My favorite Might and Magic game. I never really got into any of them after this one. My favorite part of the game is probably the end video for Darkside of Xeen. I watched it over and over again because I thought it was amazing. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't played. I think it's one of the top endings I've ever seen for a game though.

I didn't even know it had copy protection. I've only ever played the CD version and I guess they removed copy protection for it.

The copy protection only comes into effect if you try to swap worlds or enter Castle Burlak. Then you're asked for a word from the manual, based on a page/line/word number. The problem is that many of the keywords which were accurate for M&M III and not accurate for M&M IV. Last night, for instance, I tried entering the Castle for the first time in my current run through, and hit 3 keywords in a row that weren't in the keyword file. Fourth attempt took.

AFAIK, all keyword must be in manual for CD-version. You said about this lists, or there are exist some other?

The crack doesn't work, and no manual is included in the download. So when I'm asked for a keyword, there's no manual to use. I have used the keyword file for M&M 3, that has been uploaded to several other sites with M&M 4/5.

Wheee...! World of Xeen has finally arrived! To me this was one of the best RPG's ever made. And these (parts 4 and 5 in combination) are the best parts of the whole series! I would recommend everyone to stay on the "light" side for some time, however. The dark side is much more challenging and very lethal for lower class characters. Highly recommended! k:

MrBackAlleySka - maybe its because of the sound driver you chose, for example, when i choose Roland it freezed inside the game, and had several crashes, so unfortunatlly, i had to use soundblaster and enjoy the great music in SB quallity.

about the pdf, i have already uploaded one, and its probably the same, so if you didnt upload yet. dont bother, i can speak for the site so its from myself, thanx for trying to help with the manual anyway

Some Tips: When you will be able to cast day of protection and day of sorcery, do so,
Its the most important spells in the game

If you want to change your party dont hesitate to pick any class and race you want, all is good! for example, i didnt have a Sorcerer in my party, my archer played a sorcerer,
and what an amzing party i had!, but dont take it to far, you need a spell caster for sorcerer spell, and its highly recomended to have a cleric, or at least a druid. (Im not sure if a druid has Divine intervetion, that is a life saver spell and it is wery important, espetially if you want to finish WOX).

Definately the BEST in the series, it'll keep you busy for months...even if you cheat!

Okay, fist thing first before I decide whether to download or not, is the combat system real time or turn-based? If it is real time, I'll most likely download it. If it is turn-based on the other hand, I think I'll probably pass this one 'cause I play so horribly with turn-based.

EDIT: I did a quick check on Quandary and found their review of the game here: http://www.quandaryland.com/jsp/disp....jsp?index=239. Yep, it is turn-based so it may not be my cup of tea, but I figure, what the heck, I'll probably download it anyway for the sake of collecting instead of for the sake of playing.
