![]() America is no different then any other country when it comes down to liking it or not. This topic may drift out of controll if people start expressing opinions that might put others on the offencive...
Personally I think america and americans are good folk. Though when regarding President Bush, I cant say that I approve of him or his methods. And I feel sorry for the soldiers that was manipulated by his words to perform many of the things that transpired during the iraq war. I know im stepping on dangerous ground when bringing things like this up. But this is MY opinion, MY feelings about it. Wow... Getting real emotional here. My conclusion is that its a fine country with great people. They are just being a bit misled at the moment. |

![]() First of all: I am American, as many of you know
2nd of all: I don't like debates, so I will make this short: I am a kid. I know a lot more about politics than most kids my age, but definitely cannot stand up to the political skills you all have. So, my opinion probably is not worth much: Americans are just like the egyptians and the romans and the greeks. They are a fad that lasts a few hundred years, and everybody is wild about them and they are the rulers of the world. And then the fad dies off, and the "empire" dies and crumbles as it is doing now. There is always a transition period of debates and arguments. America is no different than any other empire. I was lucky enough to be born in one of the world's richest countries, but it won't stay that way. Like any other country, it will go into debt, as it is now. The people will get lazy and apathetic, as it is now. And other countries will take it over. This is the final step, and it is just beginning to happen. I can compare GW Bush to leaders such as Justinian the first and Cleopatra: leaders stuck at the forefront of a dying empire, thrust with the responsibility of rulership. But they will fail, as all leaders do when the odds are completely against them. And this will happen at the great consternation and anger of the people of the world, as it is now. People hate them because there is nowone else to hate. But it is not the leader. At this point the leader doesnt matter, because he has no power. It is just part of the circle of rise and decline that America will fall. Trust me, in 150 years or so nothing will remain of the United States of America. Who knows what the next empire will be. China? Australia? Germany? Hungary? Norway? Clouded, the future is. As Yoda would say. And thats my opinion. |

![]() I have a feeling that in 25 years the west will have to find themselves second to China and/or India...

![]() the difference is that the rulers of this "fad" know the past and are working to prevent their fall from what the past has taught them. They are trying to rule the world through military might, and they are not even trying to hide the fact. And they will not stop until they have seeded their way of life into every one elses heads out there, aka "democracy". What most people, espesially in the states don't realise is that they are a democratic republic, and that if they consider themselves just a straigh democracy then they are in big muck. If you are american and reading this, do yourself a favour and look up the difference between a republic and a democray.

![]() Oh yeesh, just when I thought this forum could settle down again the entire military conspiracy-theories rebegin and the people who tend to use square brackets alongside words like terrorists step forth.
The joy. Quote:

![]() # democracy: a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
# a form of government whose head of state is not a monarch; "the head of state in a republic is usually a president" A republic, in its basic sense, is a state in which sovereignty derives ultimately from the people (however defined), rather than from an hereditary principle. hmm we will have no sovereignty at all we dont have any power becuase some people give into being brainwashed so we elect these idiots i mean every speech bush has given shows how dum he is and avoids questions shouldn't our government tell us whats going on they treat us like children :ranting: |
