CAPTCHA doesn't work too good. However this idea might be confusing to some users since 3xblah, and the potential social forum won't add to the postcount.

After much consideration, I think that not only this is a great idea but it might unfortunatly become absolutly necessary to counter all those stupid bots.

Most of the users never see them because we have a great MOD/Admin team here, but the truth is that this board probably get 5/10 of those bots a day (I know that, average, I report or spot two of them a day)... And some of them are either downright annoying or even post XXX pictures with their XXX links...

I like CAPTCHA. A certain forum with CAPTCHA that I visit requires posters to input the result of a random calculation, for example 6 * 5 + 2 - 7, so the posters have to input 25 before posting.

I just realised that If we use the "No topic posting withouth one post" rule, new members cant start welcome-threads....

Altought we could explain to them that they need to post first before they can start topics....

Or, like The Game Creators Forum a new user's topics have to be examined by a mod or admin in order to be posted.

But we could always blow their butts to heck........

Too much work for mods and admins. Imagine the amount of complaints if for a day or two no staff member comes around to approve posted topics

Preventing them from getting those butts in here is always preferable and leaves more time for the staff to do more important things.
