![]() Wendy gave the game a 3 out of 5. That isn't particularly bad is it? The 2.8 is based on the opinion of people who downloaded and played it...

![]() Excellent game - people who whinge about it having no graphics are missing the point. I never considered this as a sequel to the Zork games either, as others have said, it's an Infocom adventure that is very much inspired by the great H. P. Lovecraft. Sure, it has nods to the Zork mythos...but a sequel? No, else it'd have Zork in the name, right?

![]() This isn't a Zork sequel. It's not set in the same universe. It does make some references to those games, but its main influences are Lovecraft and Stephen King. Great game, my second favourite after Trinity.

![]() Reading and looking over the extras in an Infocom game always sets the mood and even develops the storyline and characters a bit.
Lurking Horrer "feelies". Some already provided.

![]() As a grad of MIT which of course is what GUE is a parody of I can really relate to the game. Aspects of it are all too real and bring back the biggest horrors of all, some of the moments of my undergraduate years at that school. So maybe knowing the environment is part of the charm.
Thanks so much for posting the extras. I didn't have them and they add a lot! |

![]() WTF?! A Zork game?! Just because it's a text adventure too? Yeah, I'll grab the next Tekken tomorrow as I purchase Street Fighter 4.
This is a terrible review and rating. This is one the best Infocom games and a complete classic in the genre, written by Dave Lebling. It even appeared under number 70 something in a list of IGN's 100 best games (in a 1995 issue of Next Generation magazine). The game is friggin' creepy like only http://parchment.googlecode.com/svn/...e/anchor.z8.js was able to many years later. But, yeah, I guess the geeky setting is not up to everyone's tastes. This is one of those college games, except with a Lovecraftian twist. Mood and settings excel at providing it. |
