Battlefield 1942 is class based so you're limited there, thats the only WW2 game i can think of with limits on weapons.

What is with the recent trend of making console and PC games almost solely based on movies?

Various superheroes, Harry Potter, etc...?

I play games for the original storylines, not so I can play some regurgitated version of a movie I've already seen (and in some cases, didn't even really like).

Games highly based on the book versions = iffy. At least that's a change from text to graphical representation.

Games loosely based on book versions = okay. At least there's some originality.

Give me a game with an original story any day. If the cover of the game looks exactly like the cover of the DVD, I just don't want the freaking thing.

Taikara is right.
To many games are created becouse of books, and the worst thing is that those games are mostly crap (sorry for language, but I don't think you'll read exactly what I have written).

But films made out of the games are something different.

And because of that you won't have a similar movie in a long while because the market is pretty much gone now. A movie about Starcraft would not be original enough anymore.

Maybe, but wouldn't be just wonderful to watch hordes of zergs fighting against protos, and the final scene when that carrier blasts. I just love the way prososes behave, pride and courage.
