Bobbin's (My) mother died, then was forced to shapeshift (not a good explanation) into a swan and enter the LOOM heavan-type thing. It's a semi-complicated concept, but it's basically like rerincarnation. Bobbin kills himself at the end of the game. Which is why in the (cancelled) sequal to the trilogy, Bobbin was a ghost (like Obi-Wan in SW4) helping Rusty (the blacksmith dude) along in his mission.
