Recently my motherboard died and I have since had to replace it. When I turned it on I get this error,

'reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key'

On start up it shows that my HDD is there, I inserted my WINXP CD, and it went straight into setup, where I can see the partition on the HDD. I can also access the BIOS and have changed the boot priority so that it loads off the HDD first, but it always goes back to a black screen with this error. Does anyone know how to fix it?
