Hey all,
i suppose both problems go hand in hand.

I can play MAX with Sound and it plays good but i realized that i have a video problem:
In the saving screen i see only a black Square where there should be a video i guess.
Top left corner, where my units are usually shown -> black square.
That is not a problem, but when I've finished the first campaign level i got to a black screen and nothing else happened.
No way out except closing window.

I could finish any tutorial level, that was no problem, but in campaign i got stuck at lvl1...

I am using dosbox, and i already tried disabling sound, no effect.
I tried deactivating 16 mb gfx support in MAX options, no effect.
I also tried changing the GFX acceleration in view-settings

I am running on a XP Home notebook with an ATI X700 Mobility.

There is no way for me, getting past level 1

The error description in the MAX topic suggests the issue may be caused by Dynamic Core. Open DOSBox.conf and set core=normal . It will run a lot slower, but should not crash.

Also, you have omitted one _critical_ bit of information: which version of DOSBox are you using to run the game.

I am using DosBox 0.72 and will test the core setting as soon as possible

You might want to try if the game works right with an older version - specifically, 0.65 or 0.70.

Well actually setting it to normal causes dosbox to exit without any readable message.

I found a way it works, i have to save the last move, exit, go to setup selecting no sound so i will be able to run it without dosbox and then end level
It is not compfortable, but it works.
I actually dont want to down/upgrade dosbox

Maybe you don't know ... eurhhhh, correction, you don't know but:
You can install all the dosbox versions you want, they don't interfere with eachother.
Each version installs in it own folder and create their own start menu items.
No problems at all.
So you can install/try all versions you want.
But usually the latest version is the most compatible, rare are the games that run better in an earlier version.
Think it's only 2 or 3 games, or so .... forgot.

Now i have a serious problem, this worked till level 3, now even without dosbox i cannot end the game, after game loads it exits immediately.

I tried now Dosbox 0.60 and game crashed too, but the error message was:
"IRET to lower privelege"

I cant help myself with this error message

0.65 tells me "illegal read from 0xadress ccps" or something like that

Sounds like a corrupted copy to me. Try re-downloading the archive from Abandonia.

And in all cases you ran it with both sound and music disabled in setup, yes?
