*Edited to provide the right music link*

I can only assume that none of you have sampled the delights of Malice Mizer or Moi Dix Mois since nobody has commented on my user title?
Two of the finest rock bands in history. They're Jrock (Japanese), and they're absolute fantastic.

First, Malice Mizer:

hey are:

Mana (electric guitar, violin, chello, harpsichord, piano - you name it basically)- Lower right,

gackt (vocals)- centre,

Kozi (Bass Guitar)- lower left,

Kami (drums) - upper right (dead now, boohoo)

Yu~ki(electric guitar)- upper left.

Firstly they're all men - yes, even Mana, though He's never been seen dressed as a man, even when he goes shopping he wears womens clothes and make up, he looks *dirty word* hot too. I think I'd sleep with him.

However, The important thing is the music. It ranges, widely. From slow ballads, to fast, energetic punk, to harsh bass heavy rock, right up to weird, short tracks full of babies crying and screaming women.

My favourites being Syunikiss(orgasmsx100), Beast of Blood, Kamen no shoutaijo, Le Ciel and Gardenia.

after they split up Mana went on to start his own project (Moi Dix Mois) which continues the image which Malice Mizer had been moving to towards the end:

As you might imagine, Moi Dix Mois make what may be called Black Metal, though it's allvery elegant (all of Mana's music tends to be elegant) there's none of that endless screaming into the microphone tomfoolery which you find with many western metal bands, Mana is VERY particular about his vocalists (he's gone through five vocalists in Malice Mizer and Moi Dix Mois to date) and doesn't hesitate to boot someone who doesn't meet his standards.

My fave tracks are The Prophet, Shadows Temple and Dialogue Symphonie.

anyway, i've talked enough.

You can DL some of the tracks I've mentioned here:

http://www.azurereflection.net/jrock/

This directory also has some X japan, Dir En Grey and numerous others, but I'm too lazy to talk about them.

Long live Mana! As soon as I can steal some ovaries and a womb I want his babies.

Actually, I have few Malice Mizer and other jrock import CDs.

Also, I used to cosplay as Mana at anime conventions

A woman dressed as a man dressing as a woman.... whee

They look like a knockoff of Boy George. Is it me, or is New Wave coming back?

Edit: And speaking of women, Taikara, you can't even begin to imagine how much your signature and avatar depress me.

I think this belongs in music.

But I've checked 'em out in the past.... JRock was never my thing though, so it didn't do too much for me.

Kiss are hilarious - the Family Guy christmas episode with them (and the other Kissstock one) are great. There's a song by Reel Big Fish on the end of Cheer Up! that reminds me of Kiss; it's called Rock 'n' Roll Is B***hin'

Try DragonASH, they're sort of rap/hip hop, also Tetsu the original vocalist for Malice Mizer joined a J hip hop 'group' for a while, only released one album i think.

Also, to whomever said they don't wear enough make up:

Satisfied?
