It works very much like a sling if you use wool for the string and try to do the Around the World manoeuvre.

They were made of steel with (probably) lead in it. You had to be kinda strong to use it, but the tricks were the same

See you keep making your heavy steel yoyo's, while I use the fantastical Aluminium with its specific weight a third that of steels. My yoyo is so damn superior to yours.

I'd rather make it out of Titanium, unless you have some stressed aluminum (what they make planes out of) or use some tungsten. Tungsten is incredibly hard...

Ok, if I wanted to kill you with a baseball bat, would I hit you with a aluminum bat, or a wiffle bat?

Your puny aluminum yoyo would be like a wiffle bat. (well, more effective, but less than mine :evil: )

Well if you're going to whack someone with something you would also want it to be heavy how does Tungsten compare to steel by weight?

The W stands for 'wolfram'. Apparently the people who discovered tungsten couldn't decide on what to call it.
