Showing your youth a bit there - SLJ was only in the recent movie version (which was gloriously rubbish), that's the original theme from the 70s TV show, sung by Isaac Hayes.

Beef, you may of course appeal to the judges...except that they don't exist. Beef's right about the age of the song, although I don't know if it was used in the TV show (probably). It was definitely in the original "Shaft" movie from 1971, as it won an Oscar that year for "Best Original Song." Richard Roundtree played John Shaft in the film and the TV show.
