hey guys, i am playing the game, it's amazing, specially for an old game.

but, i have a problem, whenever a rival resigns or dies, the game freezes, how come? any solution for that?

If it's what I think, the game should un-freeze in a minute, it's some timing bug. But I thought it was fixed some DOSBox versions ago, unless it's re-appeared, which one are you using?

I'm not sure to be honest, i'm not good with these stuff.

though, it seems now that i am a hatamoto, things are getting worse for me, the maximum number of troops i can raise is about 400, the enemy has 700+ soldiers and battle fights are becoming literal hell lol.

any advice? should i drill the troops?

I took a hostage from one of my fellow hatamoto and am trying to do whatever it is that i can to increase my honor and troop size.

It's been a while since I played this. The maximum number of troops depended on your land holdings. Pick any missions that involve a land reward, and defend what you already have.

Battles are easy as long as you're the attacker, see one of my posts just above.

You can also increase the value of your land by raising the taxes the peasants pay, but it also decreases your honor.

You can increase your honor by winning duels or fights against bandits, marrying a woman from a family with higher honor than you, or donating land to monks. If you're caught while trying to abduct a relative of an enemy, you'll lose honor, but nothing will happen if you're not caught in the act, even if you use it later for blackmail.

Generalship is the least useful of attributes, it influences the morale of your troops in battle. It's usually more important to outmaneuver or outnumber the enemy.

Ok, I somehow managed to find out how to fight kenjutsu-duels, but how can i win them ?

I win almost every duel when training but the first real opponent strikes me down without even being hit... and i even chose kenjutsu as my family advantage... :-(

Is there a way to block?
How is the best way to approach enemys?

You probably have your difficulty set too high, or need to train more in-game. As for the saving, it's only possible in your home castle.

What do I do when in combat ? How do I switch between weapons and fight? :angry:
