Hello all, love the site and the idea.

Hopefully someone can help me in this mess of spammers and whinners of a topic.

I'm running win98 which has a dos prompt, I'd rather not use dos box. I dl'd the boot disc and followed the instructions. When I restart my cpu, the boot disc seems to load ok. I switch to c drive, type mk2/mk2.exe and it starts to load the game, but gives me an error interrupted message. I tried mk2\mk2gus.bat and got some other wierd errors.

Second question... it says to copy the SB emulation files to a directory that is specified in autoexec.bat on the floppy. I don't understand this.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I agree with Sebatianos, MK2 has a good story... but liked Ulitmate MK 3 the best, as the creators made quite a lot of new new characters that could actually have some potential in the future. eg: Ermac (who apears in MK deception). Plus its great for some multiplayer action.

Mk Triliogy, if memory serves, is pretty much MK3 with more characters from the previous games and all manner of funky game modes

OK - you don't need the mouse...
First off I think you should speed it up (ctrl+F12). Repeat this until you get a normal speed (I think it's 12000 cycles - you'll see the number on the top of the DOSBox window).
Then press either F1 or F2 to select player 1 or 2 (or both for two player mode).
F10 brings up the options (also you can redefine the movement keys) and F9 brings up the hidden cheat screen (only if you typed in the cheat code - before the logo apeared).

Should work. If you want full screen within DOSBox press alt+enter (also to switch back from full screen).

Check out the moves (there should also be the cheat code). Or practice in two player mode (and beat the crap out of the standing fighter).

Ah, the Kintaro fatality in MK2 rocks...

Play as Shang Tsung, and hold LP for 30 seconds (if you start holding it before the final round begins, you don't have to hold for the entire 30 seconds - you can win faster, if you want). Move to sweep distance and release.
