For gay marriage - It's O.K., but for them being able to adopt children? **** off  . They'll ruin the childs life - he was born with normal parents. Jeeez.

Better to be abandoned once than being dispized by everyone for the rest of your life. Besides, they may find parents they want.

as beef said it is amazing how many people i thought were cool are being shown as being bigots in this topic. if you despise people for having gay parents troop that is your bloody problem. kids always find reosens to hate other kids.
people who come out of care homes dont tend to be that well adjusted. i think a child with 2 gay parents who love that child is going to be a lot more balanced than a child who has come through the damnable care system.

Doesn't offend me - maybe that's your prejudice and not any change - what do you think has changed so that NOW it's offensive? Or is it just the wider acceptance of society that bothers you?

How? That's simple enough. Because the people's psychology and knowledge changes throughout their lives.
Now lets just presume for a moment that children growing up with gay parents would indeed perceive homosexual relations as normal and heterosexual ones as "deviate" (which is STILL utter BS): Why do you think THEIR psychology and knowledge WOULDN't change "back to normal" as they grow older? You're nullifying your own arguement.

Homosexuals have always been present, true. However it is only now that they begin to get offensive with their deviation. Now, is that normal? No.
But to discriminate them, kill them, "re-educate" them (like it was done for centuries) is PERFECTLY "normal"?

Again, we are not talking about a different skin color here. So cease all those attempts at comparing different skin colours to different sexual orientations, since these are completely different cases.
Rrright, because children differentiate in THAT way. This is getting silly. A different skin colour is an even more obvious and drastic change from "normal" perception and enviroment to a child than a homosexual pair of parents would be, because children in general are more inlfuenced by visual factors.

No, because they are usually AWARE that the missing father or mother existed, usually because they were informed so by the remaining parent.
Just like they would be aware that there is/was at least ONE other parental part (depending on the exact circumstances) prior to their adoption when living with gay parents.

I'm leaving this discussion. I don't see why I'm spending my time. I know what I believe, I know my sexuality and I accept it, I don't give a rats as$ about what some stubborn morons think.

Just a thought for you:

I had a friend when I was a kid. He's 18 years old now, he has a 25 year old sister. Their mom is bisexual, and has lived with a woman for 16 years. So he grew up with two mothers. He was in NO way different than other kids. We were in the same class for 7 years, nobody ever bullied him or teased him for it. It was just as normal for everyone as living with two parents. This guy is really smart, he goes to top notch school, he's overall a great guy. And he's straight, so is his sister.

Imagine, had his mother married another man after she divorced. That man could've been a drunkard, a druggie, even abusive. How would that leave my old friend? I doubt he'd be as great and smart and shining as he is now.
It's not how the parents are, it's how they act. If a gay couple is loving and caring, I don't see why they shouldn't get to have kids, while people who are not suitable parents, don't want them, don't love them, can.

There are orphanages full all over the world of kids who have nobody that cares for them. Wouldn't they be better off with a loving couple who would give them attention, love and everything they ned (be them straight or gay), than where they are?

I'm off this discussion now.

Great points (which I wanted to edit into my post as well, had my I-net-connection LET me  ). But they won't matter anything to people like Triton and Horseman (who are both down to defending what they BELIEVE rather than bringing facts by now), and that's the very reason why this topic is trough for me as well. There's no use talking to those who cover up their ears, and there's no use showing those who hide their eyes.

Oops, I missed something earlier - children do not get their only perception of normal adult life from their parents, particularly at the time when sexuality could in theory be influenced - your parents cease to be your only (main) adult contact before puberty.
