Further to my playing this on DosBox yesterday. I've played with with Dosbox.conf and got better playabilty. I'm running a GF7600 and a dual core AMD with onboard sound WinXP sp2

This is for DosBox 0.70

sensitivity=200 (set this to 200 to improve mouse turning)

blocksize=256 (set this low to get rid of the sound lag)

Then when you run DosBox, CTRL+11 until you hit 30% - (this feels about the right speed to me).

i cant get it to work right with dos-box

Did you read the "DOSBox for beginners"?

Please, provide a bit more info on what isn't working, like error messages, DOSBox version, operating system, hardware and your configuration of DOSBox.

I just got Alien Trilogy and it won't install, it says you require 8 megabytes of RAM or more, and I know I have way more than 8 megabytes of ram, please help me.

try running setsound.exe and changing your sound driver to sound blaster 100% compatible or whatever that name is

this game is one of the best fps - it is all about atmosphere, not about who has the fastest reflex like most (to me dull) fps like tactic shooters etc... it has one of the most amazing atmosphere i experienced in videogaming. it is on the surface pretty similar to doom3 (both mostly dark hallway corridors)- and i dont know EXACTLY why doom3 sucked and this was so awesome , but in this one you actually feel lost and scared, a major factor is THAT THERES VERY LITTLE AMMO SUPPLIES THROUGHOUT the game. whenever you find ammo it IS a big thing. thats pretty unique since i dont know any other shooter that does that to this extend, so this feels very authentic, real and challenging but its never unfair (but tough alot of the times). i remember i was constantly on the edge of my seat sweating, even when you could not hear anything threating, because it is very little light in the game most of the time you concentrate at the sounds of your environment, so when you HEAR an alien you can tell pretty good tell how many rooms or hallways or far away they are. and these aliens really do look scary so you feel the threat and fear...

also a unique case where i would recommend the censored version over the uncensored. get the german version (maybe uk has censored too i dont know)BECAUSE: they cut out the human enemies, so theres only aliens and you, which gives a more abandonded threatening and isolated atmosphere!!!!!!!

so many of my favorite games like this one, privateer 2 , dream web , death rally etc etc get so bad reviews i dont get it.
and boring games like all these well known shooters of recent years are praised so much from far cry to all the tactic shooters


edit: wanna add this to the doom3 comparison
first theres not an emeny around every corner here, so youre not as desensetized+ it feels way more satisfying to kill an alien
also you really LIVE this game as opposed to just a quick shootemup style in doom3 ... eg i would actually hide and run back the hallway from the aliens, just to survive or get better chances for attacks, would never do that in doom3, they only went for the cheap scares

I can not install the game or run it. When I try to play it tells me to install it. When I try to install it I see a flash of a command prompt window then nothing. Please help.
