So I can mount everything just fine using D-Fend, and I can actually run setup this way, but when setup is "About to benchmark video system," I get a message saying "unable to access benchmark files."

Anyone else out there run into this problem?
same problem here...when I try to run the game anyway I appear to be missing the player.ini file [/b][/quote]
There seem to be some solutions for other problems in this thread, just not this one. Once again, I am having the same trouble, so I know I and some others would really love some input from others, if not a d/l-able player.ini file so that we can get the game working

Thanks for the help.

I think Legend of Kyrandia 2 was the best of the series. It had the best humour and the most fun puzzles, and there was nothing about the game that was done badly.

The first game had good points, it had perfect atmosphere, but as mentioned before, the random puzzles, aswell as some frustrating maze like puzzles, brought it down a notch. Still a beautiful game and definitely draws you into the world. The third game has one major problem: there are some extremely boring puzzles (like when you get captured and have to go to jail, and have to do manual labour to get out- woopee, thats what gaming is all about :blink. and some puzzles were plain irritating. but most of the puzzles were very fun, and the nice/naughty meter was a great idea. spreading havoc and playing the role of malcolm was really fun, its a shame some puzzles were lackluster.

I'd like to know if anybody here knows what to do with that 'unable to access benchmark files' problem? :help: thats very annoying!!! that player.ini file is essential for the game to work but it won't appear unless I succeed that damn video benchmark

thanks

Hi there, it's me again. Thanks for the answer.

What I did to solve this is take an old computer from somewhere and install Windows 98 on it. It's not the easiest solution, but it works. I also have an old 15" monitor, now I only need a place to put it

Yeah the jail bit was annoying - I think it was meant to be. Even back then, things like this were already getting slammed in reviews as unforgivable. Still, I loved Kyrandia 3. It has great music and voices, not to mention great graphics. Only downside is the stupid laughing audience, which you can luckily turn off.

Not to mention that this site is above all about REMEMBERING good old dos games and talking about them.

Being able to download them is just a bonus. We try our best to add games that can be downloaded as well, but that can't always be the case. So try not to complain about what you can't have - there's so much more you can (and we don't wanna loose that).

why do they take down all these games that they can't even make a profit from anyways? If you want it you have to by it from some Canalis Analis who overprices used copies, not from the manufacturers, what is the ESAs problem? Are they just stupid or something, or do they get off to making sure no one has fun for free?
