That's actually a question that I always wanted to ask myelf, but simply forgot. What are the conditions for the improvement of the palace?

I am sure that u get one improvement with the first wonder and when the ranks (example the most avanced or the mos powerfull, etc); you get twice improvements if u are first and a single one if you are second or third.

In Civ 2 there is a cheat to build a palace improvement, but I don't remember what it was anymore.

I think you get more money or points at the end if your palace is completed. Of course, you are going to have a massive score anyway

That's strange. I have Civilization II - Test of Time that had among other interesting campaigns the original Civilization II campaign and the Extended original Civ2 campaign, but I there is nothing about palace improvement, only a simple palace in the capital city that removes financial corruption...

In civ 2, the palace building of civ 1 is the throne room, and it hasnīt nothing to do with the game or points, you can chose to tueno off the option and u will never heard again about it. I got almost forgetted about the palace or throne room.

Well, for your version thare isnīt any other palace and i am sure that u got the throne room option turned off. Maybe it didnīt came with your game, the versions on the net most of them didnīt got some of the additional stuff like the throne room additions, the wonderīs movies, the loserīs movie, etc.
And Civ2 hasnīt campaign, there are scenarios or full game modes. Anyway when you found your first city, it got a capital palace, the palace is from where u rule your empire and in a capital the corruption is always 0. The distance to capital generete a discontent and corruption factor depending on the goverment. Big sized empires with depotism or monarchy have to change the goverment or move the palace to the centre of them. This is a very common problem in long scenarios with a high tecnologic paradigma (make each tecno more diificult to get), you must chose a warless republic or move palace.

Yeah, the cheat for civ 2 doesn't work in Civ 1 for the palace.
Oh, you can cheat a palace in every city in civ 2... but Fundamentalism is still better.

I wonder why they made it so you couldn't be the barbarians in Civ3? hehe.

If you try to be the barbarians in Civ 1, you have to make sure they sacked a city and kept it first, other wise its game over. The barbarians are very unstable, they have a city that doesn't exist called none, and if it manages to build a unit it ends the game. Also, if you look in the city or step a unit into it it also ends the game.

You don't need to install it. Just download and extract. Then all you have to do is PLAY!

As strange as it sounds, Civilization 1 is my favorite game of all time. It's simplicity and addictivness are well-known to anyone who's played it. I used to play it a lot in elementary and junior high school and have lost the files and the old diskettes, those old big ones, so it brings back nostalgia and memories to see it on Abandonia. Thanks a lot, I've just downloaded it.
