not at all, my friend. there are only an order of thousand games in that period, and very few of them have planes, right?
anyhoo, it's a sim. the plane involved was one of the heaviest and most [defenceable] (what I mean is that it was very hard to destroy) in the time (the 1980s).

My commend/question was directed at yours about my choice of words for my choice for game. :bleh:

Anyway, well, planes that could fit your description are/were A-10 warthog (sp? never good at this word), perhaps F-111, F4-Phantom or even A-7 Corsair. I assume you do not mean that it was developed and flew only in the 80s. Since I am not aware of a flight sim that dealt with only with any of the above apart from the A-10 (which would be the best candidate anyway), the I continue with that in mind. From what I remember there have been 3 dedicated A-10 flight sims. One was A-10 Cuba, the other I can barely remember a thing, including its name, and the third was cancelled. So I have to say A-10 Cuba.

ahem, like I said- one of the heaviest and hard to destroy. there's a reason for that- (WARNING: dead give away away hint) it had to deliver nuclear weapons.

Is it a NATO side plane? Is the sim dedicated (you can only fly) the specific plane?

yes. and it's a different kid of sim. you don't pilot, you command.

I thought about flight commander series, but it is not a sim. Perhaps ATAC?

perhaps I should clarify the first hint- the game was made before 1986. I don't know what ATAC stands for, but flight commander 1 was released in 1992.
the first hint is key- there are very few games in that era that even have planes.
oh, and I checked- despite the fact that I would bet a pair of clean socks it's a sim, HOTU says it's a wargame.

EDIT: efthimios, thax for telling me of flight commander, it's a great game!... which HOTU clasified as a sim, the game in question is much more a sim than that. you even only control 1 plane.
P.S. doesn't anyone else know anything about early/mid 80s?
