My current party is 2 Knights 3 Cleric/Rangers 1 Cleric/Red Mage. I thought Rangers are the best warriors since they have that bonus against "giant-class creatures". Does anybody know what giant-class creatures are and how big that damage bonus for the Ranger is?

Thanks
If I am not mistaken, giant-class creatuers are all the giants (hill, mountain, fire, etc), firbolgs, ogres and ettins. Can't remember if there were other giants. And I think the bonus is an attack bonus. But that game goes by first edition rules, and I can't remember them very well right now. But still, I think knights are better overall warriors, they are basically a mix of paladins, fighters and clerics

Rangers seem to get their level added to damage when fighting their special enemies. But those are very few of the DQoK monsters (mainly the ettins you can get as outside random encounter and the fire giants) and there are no hard battles with them.
Their spells are quite useful, they get mirror image and protection from fire which can be cast before combat.

The level 7 resurrection spell doesn't lower constitution IIRC, only the level 5 spell "raise dead" does.

An annoying thing about cleric/ranger is that the game often confuses the two classes and sets the XP back after training so you level up more slowly.

Are the extras to this game missing or are the links broken?

They're broken it seems. Probably part of the ones uploaded in Kosta times.

Default Importing games

Not sure if anyone checks this or not, but this game is different from CoK and DKK in getting characters / save games imported. Any suggestions? I have all three games in C:\Oldgames and mount C:\oldgames then cd DQK to run Dark Queen (ends up reading C:\DQK). I ran the install each time I loaded Dark Queen and set the Death Knights directory as C:\DKK\SAVE. I've tried copying over the character files in Windows from DKK to DQK and DQK\Save folders but they still don't read.

This was probably asked before, but I can't seem to find it. Your help is appreciated!

You cannot dualclass in the Krynn series.

Huh, what?

Of course you can dual class! But this is second edition, so only a few select races were able to do it. And no, humans can't...

It is the same thing as far as 2nd edition is concerned.

There was no way to do what you yourself are referring to because it simply didn't exist. But I clearly remember multiclassing my spellcasters when I played when I was young. And it's exactly the same thing for almost all extent and purposes.

Can you actually get to level 40 with 2nd edition?

At least in 3rd edition, once you reach level 20 you're pretty much a God.

That's why you're supposed to work in a team in 3rd edition.

The Mage always look like a God, but he would never have gotten there if the tank would not have been there 10 levels earlier.
