that's called fanboy-ism, and in general it's considered to be gay

That aside, it would require at least triple the memory requirements of a game, or otherwise would be loading for at least 10 minutes between game-changing.

Have you optimized the numbers of cycles? Also, did you try skipping 1-2 frames?
You should be able to run it decently on even a laptop with 2 GHz through Dosbox.
I've got the same problem with the mega lag. What optimizations do I use for Dosbox? (Sorry, I'm not very computer/tech-savvy :wondering

A detailed procedure is described in this post. It's applicable to every resource-demanding game out there.

I actually really liked this game at first. Making my charactor and the like, and I also loved the noobie dungeon too! But... the world outside was so empty. Cities were fine, but all of that open space outside was a real turn off for me. Besides all that, though, I have a fun time playing it.

As much as I adore world and lore of Elder Scrolls, I just can't force myself of playing this, mainly because of its ultra slowness.

I'm waitng for Daggerfall to become freeware of abandonware.

It's really great. For me the freedom of action is a plus in RPGs. Actually I'll think about getting the whole Elder Scrolls series in Amazon or somewhere. The towns are really nice and the dungeons actually scary (it's the first time I find that in a RPG). And superb music, and awesome graphics for the time, and generally superb in every aspect.

I just wish there was a simpler way to switch equipped weapons. And there is one flaw in my opinion, how come weapons break so soon? It's totally crazy, you can't complete a dungeon without replacement weapons.
