![]() This was a great game in it's day, one of the first tactical shooters. You could do just about everything you could do in a real operation. I have several friends who were involved with special ops in Vietnam and they thought it was very accurate in the details. I also liked the RPGish elements in managing the team. I still have the CD-ROM.

![]() SEAL Team in a game that will be untouched for ages. The graphics and sounds were not a glamour, but the gameplay was absolutly golden. Tactical options were unlimited, this game actually let me use my knowledge of SEAL warfare to accomplish the missions. And the support you could call in was unbelievable. Granted you needed to take an extreme amount of caution when using them, but nothing was better than wathing a Cobra gunship start slamming out rounds at Charlie.
Even if the mission went FUBAR, the game continued. While you could just quit the game, Id call in for support for an emergency extraction. While waiting for the chopper to arrive, I was bussy managing my team and team casualties, while holding Charlie off. Intensity in a game never has reach that level before. SEAL Team is a game for years to come. If only someone would implement the gameplay with updated graphics, sound, and a full aiming system. But change nothing else. The game is solid. |

![]() This was my favorite game of its day. A full 360 scrolling game that came out before doom. The realizm of tactics is unbelievable. Too bad this cant be downloaded.
In the game you will either be dropped by chopper or dropped by boat,, starting in waist deep water. Quiet was the name of the game. Sneak in, do you job and get out fast. You had to call for evac if one of your team was injured. I hope someone does a remake of this game. |

![]() This is just unfair.... finally find what looks like it would be a perfect download and um... we can't download it!!!
Why? Why? Don't they realize that nobody is going to pay for this stuff? It looks like it might be fun, but who would buy it? Let us have it you greedy tycoons you! And a message to other "tycoons" (i.e. developers), if you make some of your older titles as Abandonware and let people play them for free, then those people might be so overwhelmed by your talent that they will be actively looking for your new releases and will buy them when they become available. In any case, you have nothing to lose if you let people play your old games for free! And you just might have a chance to gain. Anybody have a link to this one???? Punch!!!!: You can't have a link it is illegal! |

![]() Everything everybody else has said is true. This game is brilliant. It just goes to show how, back in the day, programmers, designers and publishers cared about doing the research and getting the subject matter right. This sort of game won't get written again because publishers don't want to spend the time getting games like this right. That's why we get so many fantasy rpg's and so few historical. The former you can make up as you go along, the latter you need to research.
(Fantasy game: Your captured and put in a cell. There is a knife hidden under the bed and a bone. You use the knife to crush the bone, shout an incantation over the bone and materialize outside the prision. Now the same problem, but you're in a vietcong POW camp with guards outside. Same knife same bone, but now you have to think: How would you escape a POW camp with just a knife and a bone? Can't make it up as you go along anymore - not if you want to be historically correct!) I have this game on CD. Got it on ebay about a year ago for ?6 ($10). I have kept a win98/XP system so I can play old and new games. I run this in DOSBox on XP with no problems and run it native on my win98 system using Moslo to slow it down, again with no problems. I'll finish by saying it's about a 2.6 meg download, if you can find it out there on the 'net. But even for ?15 ($25) on ebay, this game would be a bargain, as it has hundreds of hours of gamplay in it! UNHAPPY GAMER: Look under every leaf, there could be traps, but you may find what your looking for...... |

![]() Okay... How the CRAP do you capture enemies? If I issue the "search" order like it says in the mannual, my team won't go capture guys, they just won't do anything ("search complete. Weapons found: 0. docs found:0, etc.) How do you do it?
Great game, BTW, but running it in DOSBOX is incredibly slow and you can't move in 1st person or the game crashes. |
