I think there was something about MT-32 support recently, and also a different DosBox build which included that.

i knew about the different build but thats based on 0.61 source not latest

I would try either 3,5 or 7... well at least those are usually the ones I use. On my 486 I use 5 though because it's a soundcard issue.
