Oh well, mine actually does have a story behind it.

I write short (1/2 to 12 pages) stories, but at one point I decided to make a real epic (after 5 years I'm still only on page 53 - haven't worked on it for 4&1/2 years - but that's another story). In this epic tale of a boy, whose father disapeared cutting down a magical oak, the boy got a mentor - Master Sebatianos - or old Bati (as he was kindly called). I tried to make sure the name had no real meaning - but had a ring to it (like other names in the story - because I wanted to present a culture uniqe in the human history). This mentor was my voice in the story (everybody had a character - and they acted acording to it as though they were alive - even if I didn't like it - otherwise their character would not be convincing). So Sebatianos was me really. Then when signing up at yahoo my real name was taken, so I chose this one. So I started using it, whenever I had to register.

My store is about the same as Sebastianos's.
A character in my book was named Strogannov.
it was onlya fter that, that I found out its a kind of steak.

But I liked the ring the name had so I shortened it to Stroggy.

Atleasts thats how i think it went
(forgive me I've been drinking, so my mind isn't that clear)

A Phoenix is a mystical Egyptian legend. He is a huge bird of fire with magical properties and capabilities and rumored to be the child of Ra, the most powerfull God in the Egyptian mythology (and also representing the sun). Doomed from birth to fly endlessly toward the sun in a vain attemp to get back to his father, the Phoenix would always fly until he died of exhaustion and consumed himself. He would then be resurected once a year at the Temple of Anubis (if I remember well the name of the temple) so he could continue his (quite impossible) epic quest.

From fire to ashes, ashes to fire.

The name "Phoenix" was pretty common over the internet when I wanted to take that nick (especially since there is a city named Phoenix in the USA) so I went for Eagle of Fire instead. And it was pretty original, original enough so my email adress is simply Eagle_of_Fire@hotmail.com without any stupid numbers before or after it...

Yes I remember that conversation.

And don't worry, when I drink too much I just become calm and surprisingly cynical.

I feel uncomfortable telling people why I picked this name. Like anyone else I don't like to be judged. When I was a heroin addict I used that name. (because I felt like nick fitted who I was then...makes sense to me.) I kept it because it is never taken by another person.
