I completed Halo 2 yesterday and it was quite nice indeed! But I admit, I like new games more than old. I don't actually play old games that much anyway. Jetpack is perhaps the one of the few old games that I play very actively.

Where'd this thread come from? Thanks, Unknown Hero!

I usually prefer older games because they made more adventures back in the 80s and 90s.

However a fantasy adventure game was released about four years ago with graphics that are out-of-this-world. Think Myst with a little of Cryo's Atlantis thrown in. Don't know if anyone's heard of it: Longest Journey. It's been very popular winning awards and selling lots. A second game in the series is in production now.

Hope the screenshot works.

Adventures were always nice until I got stuck. I have played many adventures but finished few. Also the replayability is low. Still many contemporary games have their origins in old time adventures or have some of their gameplay from there.

Adventures - to me - have always been very boring. Basically just clicking the destination and watching the character walking. Then trying to do something with the objects by watching them, using them and so on. Most of the time goes just wandering around and thinking of what to do. Frustration get's very high.

It's just that I like to play games where you can blast your enemys head of with shotgun instead of wasting days to solve a puzzle that moves the asshole out of my way.

The puzzles can be too difficult. While the player is itching to get to the next scene or level, they can't until they work out some complicated problem (much too much like hard work) - or worse - repeat some routine a dozen times or more. The games become playable again after twelve months or so. I wish I still had copies of Zork Nemesis and Atlantis.

Last game I have played. Well I was playing three at once, they were Unreal 2, Vietcong and Medal of Honour Allied Assault. I finished them about 4 months ago haven't played a new game since.

I really need to play a FPS game, one I haven't already played. I feel like I'm going to mad if I don't kill something soon. :ranting:
I can get one for my birthday. :Brain: :Brain: Oh happy days.

Yeah I played the multiplayer version at a internet cafe, I enjoyed it quite a bit. But I'll have to look into this more to find out which one I want.

I don't play much new games (as I think they are too expensive), and last new games that I bought (actually my wife bought for me) were Civilization III and War Craft III. I love both of them, but after I completed War Craft III, I uninstalled it (now that I reformatted HD, there is nothing yet there), but Civ 2 and 3 are games that I always like to have installed on computer.

Another reason I don’t get much new gamesis that I hate to be slow down by hardware, and even my computer should run Doom3 and HL2, I will wait till I upgrade PC later, to get these titles, as I hate low F/s.

Wendymaree,
Thanks for that link. It looks interesting. Is game play similar to Morrowind?
