![]() Let's see... it's got RPG elements, strategy elements and simulation elements. All three're obvious in there. Enough different elements, equaled out, to concider it not fit for any specific category.

![]() I think, in Japan (or at least those English-speaking people who play the Japanese games), they consider these types of games "life-sims." Sort of like a strategy simulation, only involving human social behavior. The Sims is considered a life-sim, as is that extremely odd Dreamcast game, Seaman.
I think Jones in the Fast Lane also fits into that category, which is available on the site, and can be found in the perplexing "Adventure" category. Basically, the next evolution to the Tamagotchi, with even wackier social context. I've started playing a new game now. I've found that replacing an old addiction with a new addiction every now and then is an excellent way to avoid ever having to admit you have a problem. |
