![]() Real time is the opposite of roundbased. If you are playing chess in real time it's like in the western - who draws/moves faster wins.

Chess IS turnbased. When someone play he needs to wait for his opponent to make a move, turn by turn. That's turn based. Real time is like RTS. You give your orders and your opponent does the same at the very same time without pausing whatsoever. It greatly reduce the amount of strategy and tactics by the fact that it become, at the end, more of a speed training than quick thinking. I.e. those who will have the hang out of the game will always win against someone new because they know what to do instead of knowing a great range of tactics and strategy... |

![]() I prefer to think of RTS as trying to react as skillfully as possible as quickly as possible. You dont have to lose the good elements. Plus, Turn-based takes too long.
