Wasn't Rome:TW released last year? Anyway I don't know which game is the best of 2005, since we're only halfway through, but I'm hoping that Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth will be a contestant.

The video game industry stopped making decent video games a few years ago. However, Hearts of Iron II seems to be a pretty good game given the condition of the industry as of late.

I agree with Trition, Hearts of Iron 2 was an excellent game. Unfortunately it's a niche product, so I doubt it will get elected as the best game of 2005.
I don't think I've heard of Darwinia, though. |

Urmm... this year's games have been awful.
Darwinia was good... urmm.... S.T.A.L.K.E.R looks promising. Boiling Point looks a bit hit or miss. Urmm... Freelancer has good mods made in 2005. Urmm.... Yes. I shall vote for Freelancer Mods. All in one. |
