Weird, eh :bleh: I'd almost think that's not the right sign, but it looks so damn close to it. Could always mail ID Software (or whatever it's called nowadays) to ask what they meant with it.

i think a dog almanack was one thaT had its first date at the rising of the dog star? a clog almanack was a series of marks on a wooden stick that could be incorperated into your walking stick

Kontiki's found symbol comes close, but its top horizontal line is bent, not straight. I'm sure that makes a difference in the wonderful world of runes and symbols.

some christian cultures have two horizontal beams on the crucifix, but that doesnt really explain this symbol

it kinda reminds me of one of the rune things on alice's apron, in american mcgee's alice
