Yeah, I'm confused. Part of the title is "The Nazi Paradox," and the review states that the game is set in a Nazi-dominated world, yet the screenshots show Soviet iconography everywhere. What's the deal? The Germans and Soviets hated each other (and I mean really hated each other) in WWII, so if this game is based on the premise that they joined forces somehow, well...

From what I've heard, there are two versions of this game.

One invovles the Nazis winning WW2 through the use of Time Travel. The other invoves the Soviets winning WW2. I played the version where the Nazis win, but the screenshots are obviously from the Soviet Victory one(Red Hell). I haven't played the soviet version, but I suspect there is little difference other then swapping Swastiskas for the Hammer and Sickel, and inserting a few "Comrade" here and there.

I mentioned this once to a German friend of mine and he mentioned something it being a soviet Victory. I wouldn't be the suprised if the Soviet version was meant for Europe, or at least Germany(because germany is very uptight about the swastika thing), while everyone else got the Nazi version.

The game itself is one of those times where it's an interesting concept that was executed poorly. The game is extremely unforgiving and it's so easy to die that it's not funny. The plot is interesting enough, but not so much that you actually want to play the game again after you've beaten it.

Basically, if you want to play, you'll need the walkthrough.

Thumbs down

WTF?
A communist is the same thing as a nazi?
Communists are workers, nazis are racists!
Stalinism is equal to communism??
Stalinism is ruled by a dictator, communism is anarchy!
By the way, Stalin DID win WW2. Hitler almost sent his entire army to Russia, and then Stalin won, costing many lives from both sides.
The "D" day is a big fat lie!
America's and England's armies just got there to stop Stalin advance!
What kind of education you recieve in USA??

Communism isn't anarchy. Communism dictates that all citizens are equal and all property is shared equally among all citizens (there is no private property). Communism is, in theory, the utopian government. However, due to human nature (read: corruption), all version of communism fail miserably after a while.

EDIT:
And, Ícaro, few people on these forums are Americans.
Now that I read it more carefully, every one of your statements is incorrect and/or incomplete. But this is going way off topic. Back to the game!

That is quite correct lar.
If anyone would ask me i would answer that the most important
win of the alliance in WWII WAS the D-Day.
The soviets just got lucky cos it was winter and it was in russia.
You know how the russian winter can be eh?
They just got lucky.
A question to Icaro.
IF the D-Day was indeed a "big fat lie" how do you explain all the people who
fought and died there?Or the people who are old men now and speak of the D-Day?
Anyways you're the one who's wrongly educated. But enough it's gone too
Anyways i'm off. Bye. :bye:

There was a reason to play it back at the time, it had full speech for all characters, it kept me going for quite a while too (till I naturally got stuck ).

Also, Nazi Paradox works only on IRQ7, I think Red Hell also accepted IRQ5 for the Soundblaster (making it more compatible)

Showing the swastika isn't allowed in Germany (were I am from).
But Germany gets its games usually translated, so the Red Hell version
should be in German language, but it isn't!
Maybe they just published the game twice.

btw:

Pack shots of the Nazi version are to be found on thelegacy.de:
http://thelegacy.de/Museum/game.php3?start...#GameforumInput

A pack shot of the Soviet version on the-underdogs.info:
http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=605

The version on Underdogs however is the Nazi version, so you can choose, whether Boston should have been destroyed by Germans or Soviets.
