aha
It seems to me that you had the same problem, and you fixed it with Turbo.exe.

But is there a way to fix it without installing any Cpu killers and that kind of stuff?

Cuz I'm not in a position to install programs like this... I share the computer with other people
and i really don't want anything to go wrong.
(Another thing: i have also tryed Mo-slo and it was better but not good enough to play it for a long time
and enyoy it.)

Yeah, I used to be worried about cpu killers, but nothing's ever gone wrong. It's simple with turbo. A thumbnail window comes up that says "CPU Speed 100%" and you just click on the % and change it to anything. Only when you put it below 20% does the slowdown become obvious. yet it never causes anything to crash, providing of course you're not running 1001 applications at the same time. You can just close it at the end, and there's no need to install anything, it doesn't take up a start-menu folder. Just put the turbo.exe in the gta folder and run 'em together. for a ~2Ghz cpu, 50% seems to be the ideal. Unfortunately you will notice the fluctuation of speed in the game, particularly when you're walking as your steps go 'tap tap tap tap tap taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap tap tap tap tap' etc. etc. But it definitely made the game playable.

Ok
I believe the computer will not will not crush because of one cpu killer,
but I still prefer softwares witch change speed of the specific application (or game) and not of the whole sistem.

So far i know only one - Mo'slo, witch slows down applications. But it didn't help very mutch.
(I slow down the game to 40% and play it with Frame Rate Limiter swiched off (fast mode). It makes the game runs at normal speed. So now the game is playable, but it steel not run smoothly.)

Now i'm looking for a software witch speedup applications. Maybe it will help.
(I would play gta with Frame Rate Limiter on (slow mode in my case) and speed it up with that software.)
I searched google for it, but i didn't find anything (yet).

I'll be very happy if anybody know it, or cuz gta1 is one of my favourite games and i wanna play it again.

Oh man this game was awesome when it came out. Ahh, the memories, ahh the freedom! Though true classic, I liked the sequel more.
