You are probably using the strategy wich I was using in the beginning, back when I was still a little boy :whistle:
I used to build a perfect army with one castle and limited recourses, wich takes a long time. Most of the time when i finally decided to come out, one opponent already defeated the others and had aquired multiple castles and a lot of recourses, wich lead to strong armys with only strong units in it.

If you want to create huge army(s) wich are stronger then the army's of your opponent, you got to be fast and get as many resources as quick as possible, not to mention more villages/castles.

Also, sometimes it is better to have to have several small armys instead of one strong army. This way, collecting resources will take less time. Well, it works for me! It would be a shame if you let this game go because of your lack of experience!

Or at least wait till the mapeditor becomes available, then you can create your own map where it is impossible to lose :wub:

Really, what do you expect us to say? You're pretty much asking us to say the problem is you. Try a little more, it's a great game, you'll like it when you get the hang of it.

that is correct. it is a difficult game. but only if you don't have the manual.

the first tip was already given: spread fast, aquire as many resources as possible. steal resources already take by computer player.

the second tip is: use right click to know the strength of opponent or beasts. also during battel use the button to see opponents strenght and strenght of his specific armies (for example dragons).

third tip is use many heroes. if nexessacry exchage armies, objects and spells between them so your best hero also has best equipment.

tip 4: if you have problems with specific map tell use which map it is so we might give you some good advice on it.

tip 5: to have a first go in the battle you need to have fast units. the one with fastest unit starts first. and the fastest unit has to be on top (i.e first in your army). that way you alsways cast your spell first and have a first strike at the enemy. this offers you to sometimes end a combat without even giving opportunity to the opponent. and without loosing a single soldier in your army.


and finnaly... i mainly played Heroes 2. and in that game the only mission that was too hard (even on easy) was the very last one (all previous ones were easy peasy). so i used the cheats to reequip the hero. the problem there was that somehow you have two castles and two herroes on beiginning and they should be like your spine. but immediatelly you loose them. :tai: weird.

oh that's right ghost are powerfull units. if you manage to control some it's so cool (or is that possible only in HOMM2?). i think you need high leadership for them otherwise they turn on you. once i used them to attack some poor peasants and their numbers increased too much. my morale and leadership was not high enough so they turned on me.


the version is being tested i believe. as already mentioned the problem is it's size (83MB).

you are thinking of king's bounty (your units were limited by your leadership)

you can only get/control ghosts in homm2ol (expansion) not in homm1&homm2, i think and units are always loyal regadles of your leadership/morale. (except for spells)
