This was one of the first strategy games I ever played. I was 12 years, I imagine, and I played it on my aunt's Amiga 500. When I sat down, I was lost in my own little world for hours and hours at a time... I played through the entire game in multiplayer against myself. Many months after I started playing it, I discovered that there was singleplayer also... Ah, the memories. Such a wonderful game. All 5's r belong to this!

Depends on your point of view... I always kinda prefered the Skynet side in my multiplayer matches against myself... Too bad I couldn't play that side on the singleplayer mode.. (Well, I could, but when I won, I didn't get to the next map, since I had beaten the side that SHOULD'VE won.. ehe... :P)

Anyway, I can't seem to find the start.txt file either... When I start up the game, the title shows, and the credits scroll, but no amount of buttonmashing gets me further... What am I doing wrong, pwetty pwiiiz? :P

neh, wouldn't have worked. found out what I did wrong though. the game needs to be run with dosbox ^^

(and I'm stuck at map number 5 AGAIN. never could get through that one... Skynet starts with crusader tanks, and close to a depot filled with crusader tanks and artillery, while I startu with transports and demons, and close to a depot with the same. also I have a few scorpions, but none of that can compare to the 5-6 units of crusaders... Anyone know how to beat this one?)

Concentrate your attacks on a single enemy unit. Make sure to destroy it in one round of attacks or surround it to prevent the thing from escaping. Computer cannot repair destroyed units.

How does this one run in DosBox (.65) (I use it with D-Fend)? I end up with "insert vga disk" and I don't know what to do; mounting with a: instead of c: doesn't seem to be enough. In XP it runs, but awfully slow. The Add on-Disk runs fine and fast in XP.

I used to play it with my Amiga 500, back in the Nineties, and liked even the accompanying music (of course much better that these annoying pc speaker noises). The controls were fine with a joystick, and that's what they are made for. The KI wasn't too good in my opinion, that's why the computer opponent starts with more units.
BI 2 was better in some parts, e.g. that one can take experienced units to the next level.
