![]() Are you sure that's the name? I can't find mention of the skrull game anywhere.

![]() I used to play this game on my Atari ST very very often.
In the ST version the character became more or less invincible when bending (I don't remember the corresponding F-key). Walking was also possible with the cursor keys, so control with cursor keys + mouse for the other functions wasn’t that difficult. To get past the harder enemies I just waited for them to come near, bending over and over (on the Atari this generated a great ‘bveuh’ sound). Then walk a little step and ‘bveuh’ again, repeat this until the enemy was not near you anymore or until you defeated him eventually. I never completed the game: at a certain time you face sort of a magician, throwing fire balls at you. I managed to kill him a few times, returning one of his fire balls with the shield (to be found after the dragon). But in de next screen (to the left) there’s nothing than an enormous ravine. Also the screen turned red, didn’t know what to do next. I once walked all the way back (ooof!) to the beginning, hoping that I could walk to the left without being chopped. No way. :wallbash: Anyone ever completed this game? (If possible!!?) |

After killing the magician with the shield, the magician will leave behind a shiny ball. Pick it up. You will automatically walk to the next screen to the left and throw the ball into the pit (causing some big explosion). And then, (this is the *amazing stupid part*), you should walk left and also fall into the pit to your death!!! If the magician hadn't been killed, then falling into the pit will kill you. But now that the magician is dead, falling into the pit *completes the game*!!! |

After that I tried google and cryptically I found a link to the legacy. Unfortunately there isn´t a description of the game and information about the game doesn´t seem to be complete to me either. But Skrull, it exists... I owned the original for the AtariSt back in the days...I don´t know if a ms-dos version has ever been released... EDIT: You can clearly see a relation to Babarian in the screenshot I think... |

![]() I'll always remember this game as being so terribly bad it's hilarious. And for that it deserves a high rating

![]() First of all, don't use that kind of language.
Also, there was also another guy who reviewed it, punch666 There was also a problem when Seb uploaded Barbarian 2 he put that review for Mastertronic's Barbarian (by punch666) The main reason for NOT uploading this game is because it really sucks, mostly because of controls. Abandonia was supposed to be site for only good ones, not archive for old games like HOTU. Now this game is added, there really should be a general discussion about what Abandonia really is. It seems that Kosta is not very active lately. Kosta wanted Abandonia to be site for good games, where people can drop by and download any game and to be sure that there is something about it. Later on, he didn't want CGA games, just like graphics is the most important part, but that also changed since there are good CGA oldies. But still games like this one was not to be present at Abandonia. Seb even suggested that, for the games like this one or Commando for exapmle, there could be a new category "Fiasco", like games that were put much into them but turned out to be very very bad. Suggestion was rejected as those games shouldn't be on Abandonia at all. Now i really think that this needs a debate led by Kosta (after all, this is his site). Some general rules and, i dare to say, Abandonia's style is not really respected, with no offence to those who did this. There are no bad intensions, nobody's fault since Kosta never actually put anywhere public the saying "Only good DOS games" under Abandonia's name, it was just said on forum few times. I really don't know what to think. By the way, this game is SURELY not a prequel to Barbarian, as the first Barbarian is much older and it was created by different company. |
