Maybe I've been too messy in my post (I also don't know very much about software etc), because I only had to select 'sciv.exe' and the game did work, without installing anything!

All in all the Coles made a series no classic gamer should go without.

I do agree that 3 is better for the hardcore fans, but I disagree that QFG 5 is in name only a QFG game.

Sure, it was 3d. Sure, it had a different battle system. But guess what? It still had the same main hero, it had many old recurring characters (MORE THAN QFG 4! It had none!) as well as all the spells and a great story.

Just because the battle system works differently doesn't mean it's a completely separate game ;p

My mage and thief turn into fighters when I import them from QFG1.

Does anybody know why?



Oh, and while I'm at it... As a mage, I can't defeat the air elemental. I cast levitate, and then I can hover up there for ages... the thing never even gets near me! From it's movements, it seems to deliberately be avoiding me... I can only get near it while on the ground, and I can apparently only hurt from the air.
If I stand right in its path and levitate, it changes it's direction instantly.

So... help me... please?

Man I love this game, I played it almost nonstop for 2 months one summer. I got to the point I could clear the game in around 4 hours. I was so disappointed when III came out, because it was clearly designed for a mouse and I didn't have one. Also you know you are an addict when your mom draws a map for the Desert and the Forest from I.

Yeah I kinda liked Qfg 1 and 2, but 3 was a total letdown. Fortunately Qfg 4 revives the old glory back to it's pedestral, and it might be even better than Qfg 1! Have you tried it out yet?
