A: No, some are Freeware, some are games that are still on sale that have been allowed to be uploaded for download by the Publishers/Developers and some are Redirects to buy the game in question.

A: Post in the troubleshooting forum Here with the following details:
System Hardware Specification
Game (Windows/Dos as well)

Q: Are your downloads safe/checked for viruses?

Every game on this site is checked for viruses! Also every game is cleansed of any saves, or any older configuration files. Actually every game on this site is just as original! The only difference is that games from this site are packed in ZIP archieve, so you will have to use some program that will unzip the archieve!

Q: Game x won't run! What should I do?

You can always contact us with your problem on the forum. There is always someone from the crew online, so you will get help in few minutes! Please also do check if there is already an existing thread about troubleshooting in the same game! (You can do this by clicking on 'Search' button in your top-right corner)

Q: How can I send a game to you?

First make sure that the game is abandonware (it mustn't be supported by any producer of it,...*I don't know the whole thing about abandonware, so who knows can tell me *), then contact someone of the crew (you can do this via mail or via PM in forum), to make sure that the game is wanted by this site. You can then send your game via mail or via FTP (only if administrator gives you password to abandonia FTP server). It would also be advisable to review the game and take few screenshots of it, so that the game can be put to the site immediately.

Q: I would like to see game X on the site! Who should I inform?

There's a special part of our forum called Requests where you can request games to be put on the site. It would be advisable to check if the game is abandoned, and to review and take few screenshots from the game in order to upload it to the site immediately. You can also provide us with the link of game's archieve (note that only non-warez links and sites will be taken in consideration, and it's forbidden to provide such links anywhere on the site).

Q: I'm stuck in a game / The game asks copy protection questions! Where can i get walkthtrough/answers?

There's a window called 'extras' in every game's page (the one with review and screenshots). If there isn't any walktrough/copy protection answer in 'extras', contact us via forum. Also there's special topic on our forums just for problems in adventure games, so you can ask for help there, too!

Q: What is the VIP Lounge? How can I become VIP?

V.I.P. section features exclusive content that cannot be given out to everyone because of bandwidth limitations. This includes things such as music, movies and large addons for abandonware games that we feature on the site. The content of V.I.P. section is changed monthly. It is accessible to all active forum members that consistently work on the creation of Abandonia. If you think you could also contribute in some way (music, manuals, games...), use the forum or contact form to get in touch with us! Here's a list of things that can get you VIP status:

-Rewieving games.
-Contributing good old games (with your own reviews of course).
-Translating to other languages
-Helping out on the forums (technical support, writing manuals,...).
-Doing various tasks for the site.

Well unknown hero's reply pretty much exhausted the subject, but i fell that at least these should be added:

A: Remove any unneeded programs from your memory.This is done by editing your autoexec.bat file, located in your root directory.Creating a boot disk is your ultimate, fail safe option.Get it here.For optimum dos memory management, use emm386, also located here.
*I know the answer is skim, but these are the basics, and upon further investigation, i can create a larger reply, with step-by-step instructions, and explicite pics.
I hope you will not ignore my DOS related questions, because i myself battled with these problems some time in the past.

Nice to see that someone remembers, but it's really not that importaint... A new poll should be made about that (many new members, many changes,...).

But back on topic.

There's one question I'm missing:

A: You will become a member of ever growing comunity, that is warm, welcoming and ofers help and support to all members in numerous ways (technical support, trouble shooting) and we also have a great art section, not to mention a lot of fun in the Blah, blah, blah... forum!
