BTW - Stroggy what happened to those ghostly e-mails from the dead guy who knew your father... You haven't really talked about that, except when you told us what happened.
I still haven't got a clue.
I believe he just sent one e-mail (in which he didn't care to elaborate on the whole "dead since... " part) and that was the last i heard of him. Still it may have been his father who died and the man writing it had the same name as his father... dead men don't write e-mails. But you can bet on this thing: that was the weirdest most difficult e-mail I have ever written.

Our old house had somewhat of a ghost in it.
At first we were horrified.
But then we started getting pissed at that annoying bastard.

My parents actually got so annoyed they got those bogus "paranormal" investigators.
Of course that turned out a flop.

Guess the mystery of the GHOST WHO STANDS IN THE CORNER AND MAKES STUPID CRYING NOISES will never be solved.

I HATE YOU, YOU PIECE OF CRAP, STOP CRYING AND GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Wilmington, Delaware US

But this house was in rural South Africa, (I was born there and lived there for quite some time) somewhere near a city, it burned down recently a few years ago (after we were there of course).

But it had a pretty noisy supernatural inhabitant that the locals were pretty aware of.
Some invisible man who would stand in one corner in the kitchen and cry the whole time.

He usually started around noon and would stop at 1.

I've never yet had an experience that I could attribute to a ghost. Many years ago, my family lived in a 106-year-old (when we moved in) Victorian house in Maine, the previous occupant of which had died while living there. Occasionally, odd things would happen, the most common being the basement light being on for no apparent reason when we arrived home some nights. We joked that Dorothy (the previous occupant) was doing this, but it could just as easily have been one of us forgetting to turn the light off after having been down there earlier. I would like to have an encounter that could only be explained as supernatural; really, I would. It just hasn't happened yet.

Personally I wouldn't like to have a real life supernatural encounter. There are two reasons:
1 - if it turns out that the ghost (or whatever it would be) is nothing more then a slight nuesence, I'd be dissapointed.
2 - if it turns out that the spirit would be very ill tembered and out to get me I'd probably be frightened. It's one thing to get a quick scare by watching a movie (you forget about that in a few hours at most), but if you have a real experience then th epsychological effect can be really damegning (not to mention that there's no guarantie that the ghost woudln't follow me wherever I'd go).

if you moved somewhere that is haunted and you were freaked by it it would give the spirit more power to freak you with. like i say just think happy thoughts and try to project that feeling of peace at them and they soon stop trying to bother you.
