allright, I addmit it- I'm an ignorant fool! I have comletely no Idea what a combat sim is.
if you mean a solider simulator (like flashpoint): I think it should be called FPS.
if you mean a level based simulation, focusing on indivual soilder skills and morale (sudden strike, Squad leader): that's tactics
if you meen large scale war simultaion, focusing on lagre formations and suply routes (panzer general, red lightning, operation europe): that's a wargame.
finaly if you're driving around in a tank: that's a tank sim.
... and then there's 'Harts of Iron' and the likes, my best guess would be strategy, but if you called it a sim, I'd know why.

It is not a strategy game or a wargame.
It is a sim involving ground forces.


There are first person views, and 3rd person views. (the magic word here for both of them is views, not view.

ground forces is alot of things, does it include one or more of the following:
a)infantry
b)transports (in which infantry is transported)
c)tanks
d)artilery (not mortars, real deal)

Just browsing this thread and reading the last page, I'm pretty sure it's a kind of sim like the US force is using when they "train" their troops.

It would be a war sim much like an FPS. It's still a war sim tough, and not an FPS.
