![]() Great game.
Dropping burgers on top of the enemies with enemies on the burgers themselves. Very enjoyable. Btw if you have an enemy on top of the burger you drop it falls futher down. (At least I think)

![]() OK, I tried this as well. On my Windows ME PC, I don't even need an emulator for it... it runs flawlessly when I start it in full-screen DOS mode.
Just to clarify, I tried just about every other Burger time version out there before this one... (all emulated) Intellivision, Colecovision (prototype and end version), MSX, Arcade, Flash game, Atari 2600, Atari 800 (Beef drop homebrew), Amstrad CPC... oh, and I OWN the cartridge for my old TI-99. I think this PC version is one of the best ones, especially taking into account those days' PC's limitations. The animation is absolutely smooth, and it doesn't run too fast on my 800 MHz PC. They kept all the 6 screens from the original arcade version and even stuck on some additional ones at the end (got to Level 10 today, and they still don't repeat). Other versions are off far worse than that. One minor gripe is that they apparently got the CGA colors wrong... the sausages that should be red are cyan, and the green onions are purple... would have been better the other way round. But all in all, it's a great conversion! |

![]() At least in the version of the game I have, it is possible to go to the options and set the level that you begin on.

![]() Just saw that your BUY IT link points to a remake you can play online and not the real game. Don't know if this means anything, but I hate the crappy thing and wouldn't pay the 99 cents for it even if their service would be offered here (outside US and Canada).

![]() This game isn't available here but there are several remakes available. Can someone who has the original let me know which of the remakes (the free ones, hopefully) is closest to the AB version?
EDIT: Actually, I found full versions of the game at another abandonware site. I honestly forgot that not all sites are as ethical as AB. I just sort of took it for granted. Now I've commited my fair share of piracy this week; penance for me. Last edited by DoomYoshi; 17-09-2008 at 02:08 AM. |
