I am having the same problem here. I am running the game on a Win98SE machine at the dosprompt. Dosbox is only for WinNT right?

You must mount the game on Driveletter D: !

If you ask something in the forum, you can at least come back to check for the answer. So there's no need to for the e-mail address.

If you are having problems which i did over the course of a year; but then again i downloaded from homeoftheunderdogs.net, you might need univbe and vesa drivers as is said on the site, but of course you have to have ati-or compatible video card.What is dosbox btw? i have a 'puter that is crap and it will not load hammer of the gods but this one im on will.

I hate to bring back an old and used topic, but I do have a question. I have a computer with Windows 98SE, so thus, it has dos. I do not need a dos emulator... at least, I thought I didn't. Is it completely impossible to run Hammer of the Gods on anything other than Dosbox? Also, when I do try using Dosbox 0.63 on my Windows XP machine, doing mount d d:/windows/desktop/hammer/hamgam.exe and it still demands the disk. I must not have something installed or I must not have the path correct or something.

maybe the d: is your cd lector =P , no idea why no d: and i am not sure than hamgam is the right .exe
The game is good but 4 parties are two few.

I suddenly felt today that I want to play this old game, so I found my old CD on the dusted shelf... And it didn't want to run (couldn't find CD) under Windows98SE. I tried varoius ways without success, searched through web looking for assistance... Found this topic, which didn't help me much. Then I went to abandonia, downloaded their version - and it works now!
That's how I did it, in details:
(1) Download the game, unzip it into any directory (I used e:\1\hammer).
(2) DOSBox is nice, but it's definitely not user friendly. Get D-Fend instead (http://members.home.nl/mabus/). It's basically still DOSBox, but it's much easier to use. Install it, run it. I used "D-Fend v2 for DOSBox 0.62".
(3) Profile - Add with wizard. Profile Name - hammer2. GameEXE - Browse - E:\1\HAMMER\Hammer.bat. Click on "Accept all defaults".
(4) You got "hammer2" profile in Games. Double click. Prey Thor it works. Use Alt-enter to switch from Window to Full screen. Don't try to swich to other applications while playing.

If this works on your computer, say thanks here. If if doesn't, post whatever errors you get, and maybe someone will be able to help more.
