![]() I always got a new pistol from the guard in the hall before the reactor room, and then, when I'm in the reactor room, I shoot the alien a couple times from the bridge, he charges at me, and I run and turn off the bridge and then he'll fall.. Its easier that trying to make him chase you from hand to hand combat, because he'd just walk to the bridge then run away.

![]() Yap, that's the way to do it. I was fighting it to throw it from the bridge but i remember when playing the game when it was released that there was an easier way.

![]() Argh!
I can't get it to run. I've adjusted the mounting and everything, but I keep getting a crash while it's loading and an error message that says it can't find emessage.txt, yet it's right there in the script folder where it's looking for it. What can I do? |

![]() Are you sure you have unpacked the archive correctly, then? What's the precise error message?

![]() I'm pretty sure I unpacked it correctly. It's not in funky folders or anything...
The error message is: Cannot find file: C:\BIOFORGE\script\Emessage.txt 0 I wonder if that zero at the end is the problem or just some part of the error message. EMESSAGE.TXT is in the C:\BIOFORGE\SCRIPT folder. |

![]() C:\BIOFORGE\SCRIPT is the path in DOSBox?
Or do you mount C:\BIOFORGE as your C drive in DOSBox? Remember that the paths in DOSBox are not the same as in Windows... |

![]() The path in DOSBox is C:\BIOFORGE not C:\BIOFORGE\SCRIPT.
It's mounted as C:\BIOFORGE but doesn't work at all unless I also mount C:\BIOFORGE\X as the CD-Rom drive, so I have C:\BIOFORGE mounted as the C drive and C:\BIOFORGE\X mounted as the CD-Rom drive H (that's my CD-Rom drive and it's the drive letter it was looking for before I mounted the CD-Rom drive). Should I change the mounting to C:\BIOFORGE\SCRIPT? If I do that it won't look in the right place for the other stuff, will it? |

![]() Now i'm totaly lost...
With Biofan's suggestion i tried out to run the game with tiny installation and without making directory X as CD drive (i made BAT file with SUBST S: X command) It worked fine for me if Dosbox see yuor Bioforge directory as C:\Bioforge - I just runed Bioforge.exe and everything was fine. If you installed more than once than that might be the problem because the paths of the instalation will be saved in INSTALL.OPT You might want to check that file (open it with Notepad or Wordpad) If you want to try to install it once again, do it from Dosbox with location you want to install it in already mounted as C: Then Install.OPT will memorize that path of Bioforge directory is C:\Bioforge (although you may install it at for example D:\Games if that was mounted as C |
