Can you explain how it runs too fast? (Like if you press forward you shoot across in light speed)
You have to click "setsound" in the Alien Trilogy folder order to get sound running, standard soundblaster worked for me. Also you don't have to do the whole mount thing. Simply create a dosbox shortcut, right click it then go to properties and change the target to something like:

C:\DOSBox-0.73\dosbox.exe -conf "C:\DOSBox-0.73\dosbox.conf" "C:\Alien Trilogy\TRILOGY.EXE"

(this is assuming you have a "conf" go on dosbox wiki for a tutorial file, then put this shortcut somewhere convenient.

Perhaps.
I'm sorry that I can help you anymore.

But feel free to try any of the other games on the site.

I guarentee that almost all of them will be easier to boot up than this.

Thanks for everything

I was just wondering if the game hexen, or hexan, or whatever it's called is abandonware yet. I remember playing it a long time ago. I don't think it's being sold anymore. It was an FPS.

I wonder why alien trilogy is harder to set up then other games.

FPS games are always difficult for some reason.

No Hexen is not abandonware sadly.
But if you're desperate for some FPS action go look at Ken's Labyrinth.
Very fun.

If you want to play a game in Windows XP and to slow it down, there's an easy to use Windows program for that - SlowDown for Windows
Just click below on SlowDown to download it. If there is an abbonement window appearing, go back and click on download again, then you'll get the program.

MoSlow is another program if you're having trouble with that one.

I don't know why I didn't mention it earlier, it must've slipped my mind.

Hello,

First, thank you to Abandonia for making this game available. This is the best website for the good oldies.

Regarding Alien Trilogy, I have unzipped it to a Windows 98 PC and have a few problems.

Sound effects work, but there is no music. I discovered (quite by accident) that when I have my Duke Nukem 3D CD in the drive when I start Alien Trilogy, the Duke Nukem theme song is played on the Alien Trilogy title screen. Should I be playing Alien Trilogy from a CD to get music?

I have to set up the Gravis Gamepad in Options > Controls every time I start the game in order to use it. Is there a way to make this permanent?

Every time I exit the game, I get the message, "This application was communicating on the network when you terminated it. Windows was unable to restore the state of the network. You need to restart your computer."

I thought that installing the game might fix the above problems, but when I attempt that, I get the error, "Alien Trilogy requires 8 megabytes of RAM or more." I adjusted EMS & XMS in the .pif accordingly, but no joy.

I am currently running trilogy.exe to play the game and am attempting to use inst.exe to install.

Thanks in advance.
