![]() sound blaster 16 works ok, but i'm really interested in the midi music. I've tried all the different sound drivers and what you said but it still wont work.
There is a [midi] section in config file. should i change anything there? thanks for the effort |

![]() Midi should work without any problem at the default settings.
Are you sure the BGM is supposed to be in MIDI and not as CD-Audio tracks on game CD? |

I have the game which i bought 12 years ago, but i travel a lot and i don't want to take any risks (break, stolen) with it...that's why i am asking...guess i'll just make a copy of the cd-rom (no cd-crack but a cd-copy...isn't that ironic?) |

![]() I got Caesar 2 workin great(sfx works, but not the music... who cares?) and I enjoyed building a humble city on my Windows XP, which' i've never done since i had my Windows 95, which was 5 yrs ago... I installed Caesar 2 for DOS and used that DOSBox to play it.
Anyways, I had an army of 193 light infantry and 60 slingers sent to attack a weak barbarian tribe/settlement, and as I clicked the button to take charge of the battle myself, it crashed to the DOSBox window with the following written down: Error loading battle data - RO2SWDA.PL8 not found. C:> Can someone tell me what's this about and if possible, how to fix it? Thx. |

![]() well, nevermind...
I just figured that when I installed the DOS version of Caesar II(my cd can install for both Windows 95 and DOS), for some odd reason most of the .PL8 files weren't copied onto my computer. So i went to manually explore the CD and found a folder entitled PL8, from which I copied and pasted the .PL8 files into my computer, and 'Lo and Behold, the battle worked. PS: I set conscription to 50%... good battle, but the people didn't like it and rioted. I wish i could glitch it so conscription wouldn't have any drastic effects. |
